The King's Guard
is part of the King's Tercio,
this tercio further consists of:

Sir John Belasyse

his Regiment of Foot

The Queen

Her Life Guard of Foote

The regiments of foot were ideally about 1200 strong and divided into ten companies.
Each company had both musketeers and pikemen and was commanded by an officer who was usually a captain.
The captains and higher officers would mostly be from the higher social ranks.
The changes in society referred to as the Renaissance were making social mobility possible but
it would be likely that the officers would be the same people that had authority in civilian life.
