| Remarks: | On "Nylon & Steel" the Cuban-born classical guitarist hooks up with Al Di Meola, Steve Morse and Andy Summers, bookended by two solo pieces performed in Barrueco’s inimitable classical acoustic style. Barrueco and his cohorts complement eight original compositions with songs written by Brazilian composers Ernesto Nazareth and Celso Machado, Heitor Villa-Lobos, Stanley Myers (“Catavina,” the theme from the film The Deer Hunter) and Aaron Copland. As the title alludes to, all guitars played by Barrueco are nylon string, and those played by his partners are steel string. |
