The tradition continues with this third edition, featuring the hottest artists of today, singing original and traditional Christmas songs (all brand-new, previously unreleased recordings). Special Olympics, founded by Eunice Kennedy Shriver, is an international program of year-round sports training and athletic competition for more than one million children and adults with mental retardation. Around the world, there are programs in more than 143 countries - including all 50 United States, involving 25,000 communities. The album was executive- produced by A&M president Al Cafaro, his wife Linda Feder, and Bobby Shriver, brother of the president of Special Olympics, Tim Shriver.
