19-04-1980 / Hannover / Eilenreadehalle / GERMANY Sting: "Hannover is an episode in my career that I'm hardly ashamed of. It was actually the end of our first real world tour that we made around the world. [...] We got through hell and high water. I was singing in the middle of the set and my voice was just going. It sounded like a crow. I realized that if I sang Roxanne, which has some very high notes, there was a chance that I could lose my voice entirely, completely. So I turned to Danny, my roadie, and as dramatically as I possible could master, I said to him: 'Danny, before we got to Roxanne, you have to pull the plugs out of the whole building, because we can't just walk off.' So that was what happened. Halfway through Message In A Bottle, they turned the power off. I bless them. It saved my voice." (radio interview "Police at Christmas").
