During his previous Japanese tour in 1992 Sting was forced to cancel a lot of dates. This time people were sceptical; the three shows in Tokyo sold out almost immediately, but some of the other cities had been slow. While Sting was in Japan doing press and TV promotion, ticket sales started to pick up and it became a sold-out tour.
