23-10-1994 / London / Royal Albert Hall / UK Elton John headlined the Stonewall Equality Show, a fund-raiser for the gay and lesbian rights campaign at the Royal Albert Hall. Sting, Alison Moyet, Melissa Etheridge and Lily Savage supported. This event started with performances of D;Dream and Melissa Etheridge. After the break Alison Moyet and Elton John performed. Sting first appeared on stage for a duet with Elton John on Come Down In Time. Elton continued with a funny performance of I Feel Pretty (Leonard Bernstein/ Steven Sondheim; from the musical "Westside Story") together with Lily. After Elton's set Sting came on stage to perform four songs. He was accompanied by Dominic, David and Manu Katche. Vinnie was replaced by Manu because of illness. After Elton joined Sting on a hilarious version of Big Spender, all artists returned on stage while balloons and confetti were coming down. |
