22-11-1996 / Aberdeen / Exhibition Centre / UK • Support act: Paul Carrack. • Attendance: 4,500. After exactly five years Sting started a extended British tour in Aberdeen again. The show was delayed for half an hour, because Sting and the band were flying up to Scotland from London in a private jet. After the first song Sting said he had "heard a rumour that I wouldn't make it to the venue in time, nut no chance". Sting screwed up the words to Let Your Soul Be Your Pilot. He also messed up the bass line to Twenty Five To Midnight by playing it in the wrong key. Sting almost forgot to play I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying and when he realized he eventually played it. A young guy (17 years) and a woman (mid 30's) tried to sound nice, but they quite failed. The woman was rather short and the guy really tall, so Sting asked for a box for her to stand on. While being in Scotland Sting announced Kenny as "Kenny McKirkland" and also mocked the Scottish accent on numerous occasions. |
