02-03-1997 / New York City, NY / The Theater at Madison Square Garden / USA • Attendance: 5,600; sellout. Exactly one year after the start of the Mercury Falling tour in New York City. Sting mentioned that this show was the 199th of the tour. For I'm So Happy I Can't Stop Crying Sting brought up a history teacher and a guy. Sting told the history teachers crack about Americans still having a Queen. The guy (Ted Engel) told a very moving story about how in 1991 he was diagnosed with cancer and how he felt listening to the Soul Cages album helped him emotionally to get thru the ordeal of radiation and chemo therapy. He thanked Sting for writing the album. Sting seemed to be moved by his story and hugged the guy. |
