The morning after their performance at the Grammy Awards The Police did a special public reharsal including press conference at the Whisky A Go Go. At 11.00am they launced into Message In A Bottle. After this song Sting said: "We are gonna come clean. We are gonna tour!".
Before Can't Stand Losing You Arthur Fogel, Live Nation Chairman of Global Music, announced that the tour would start in Vancouver and continue thourgh North America. After that dates in the UK and Europe, including appearances in Holland, Germany, Italy and France with additional countries to be announced. Additional dates in Mexico, South America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand were anticipated. "The anticipation and excitement to see The Police is overwhelming and I am absolutely thrilled to be a part of bringing the band to their fans worldwide," said Arthur Fogel. This was followed by information about the relation of the tour with BestBuy and WaterAid. Then the press were invited to ask questions to the band.
After Roxanne Sting said: "We'll see you in three months".
The event was webcasted and also broadcasted live by VH1.
